BVI and US Virgin Island Yacht Charters
Itineraries: BVI Yacht Charters | USVI Yacht
Charters
The Virgin Islands are well known to those who
love to charter a yacht. With the many islands that dot the area,
it is especially easy to sail whether you are a novice or a seasoned
cruiser.
Depending on what kind of yacht charter you
choose in the Virgin Islands, you can experience one or all of these
wonderful islands. Many crewed yacht charters have scuba equipment
as well as certified dive instructors onboard to show you how to
experience Caribbean scuba
diving at its best. Have freshly prepared meals on your charter
and savor every bite. Charter Captains and Crew usually are very
familiar with the area and will show you to the best bars, restaurants,
beaches and shopping.
United States Virgin Islands (USVI)
A territory of the United States, the USVI consists
of three main islands; St. Johns, St. Croix and the capital St.
Thomas. Known as a port for major cruise lines, this area is great
for a crewed yacht charter. Day sailing charters are quite common
around the USVI. With busy ports such as Charlotte Amalie on St.
Thomas, you can cruise around this tropical paradise and stop at
various shops, restaurants and bars.
St. John the smallest of the three, it is a
nature lover’s dream. Dock your charter yacht here for the
day and explore this peaceful and serene island. If you love to
scuba, this is the place to go in the USVI.
St. Croix is the largest of the USVI and one
of richest in history. Those interested will find the island full
of European history including archaeological ruins, and museums.
Plenty of shopping, lush rainforests and beaches are waiting for
you.
British Virgin Islands (BVI)
The British Virgin Islands (commonly referred
to as the BVI) are next door to the USVI, yet seem worlds apart.
Unlike bustling Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas, BVI’s capital
of Road Town is much smaller and less commercial.
The BVI is made up of 60 islands; many of which
are so small they are uninhabited. The main islands of the BVI are:
Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and Anegada.
A BVI yacht charter is truly something one must
experience. The sun shines every day, waters are crystal clear and
the trade winds typically blow northeast to southeast between 10-25
knots which allow those new or experienced at sailing to cruise
safely around the BVI.
The BVI offers plenty of yachts for charter
either crewed or bareboat. If you are looking for a place to kick
back and get away from it all, this is the place. Crews can take
you to unspoiled territory such as Anegada, or to some of the most
well known party places in the world including the world famous
Soggy Dollar Bar, Foxys and Bomba Shack to name just a few.
If you want seclusion, have your Captain take
your yacht charter to the famous Baths of Virgin Gorda. Exotic pools
and grottos formed by giant rocks are amazing for those who scuba
or just want an amazing hike.
